Refurbishment of properties
Home Housing is working on the ‘masterplanning’ for Deckham, which will detail the type of work needed to improve the housing.
Bridging NewcastleGateshead funding has helped to improve an area next to Old Durham Road in Central Gateshead. At Cemetery Road and King James Street a number of properties have been refurbished, while two terraces of unpopular flats and disused commercial premises have been demolished so that new residential development can take place.
The Neighbourhood Plan for Deckham outlines the planned work. http://www.bridgingng.org.uk/docs/yourarea_plans/Deckhammap.pdf
